Covington Screens “Gay Chorus Deep South”

June 30, 2020

In celebration of LGBT+ Pride Month, Covington hosted a virtual screening of the documentary, Gay Chorus Deep South. The film chronicles the San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus and the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir's October 2017 tour through Mississippi, Tennessee, Alabama and the Carolinas.

After the virtual screening, Covington's LGBT+ Affinity group facilitated a conversation with San Francisco Gay Men's Chorus Artistic Director and Conductor Dr. Tim Seelig and Executive Director Chris Verdugo, moderated by Wade Ackerman, a partner in our Los Angeles office. They discussed their journey and experience to spread the message of music, love, and acceptance to communities and individuals confronting intolerance. The film holds a special place with Covington because two members of our Covington family, Steven McCowan and Udit Sood, are members of the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus.

Over 600 clients and Covington team members registered to view the film and more than 100 participated in the virtual discussion.
