Syngenta's Approval Shows Limits of Politics on China

Mark Plotkin is quoted by Market Talk commenting on the CFIUS process following approval of the ChemChina-Syngenta deal. According to Plotkin, “At both the staff and political levels, CFIUS has been careful to separate simple China-bashing and economic self-interest from true national security considerations.” He continues, “There are many designated fora for arguing about trade policy but CFIUS is not one of them."
