October 28, 2003

WASHINGTON, D.C., October 28, 2003 - The American Tort Reform Association (ATRA) has named Covington & Burling partner Keith A. For the last dozen years, Mr. Teel has assisted clients in the areas of tort and civil justice reform and is actively involved in addressing litigation problems through legislation.  He devotes much of his practice to civil justice reform and other federal and state legislation. Mr. Teel - who chairs the Agenda Committee of the American Tort Reform Association - has drafted and overseen the passage of more than 30 pieces of state civil justice legislation, and has participated in dozens of other civil justice legislative efforts.

Other lawyers named as ATRA "Legal Reform Champions" include: John Beisner of O'Melveny & Myers LLP; Griffin B. Bell of King & Spalding LLP; Theodore J. Boutrous, Jr. of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP; Elliot M. Kaplan of Daniels & Kaplan PC; Matthew C. McDonald of Miller Hamilton Snider & Odom LLC; Victor E.
