Covington Advises Fiber Composites on Acquisition of LP’s WeatherBest


NEW YORK, NY, October 30, 2007 — Fiber Composites has completed its previously announced acquisition of Louisiana-Pacific Corporation’s (LP’s) WeatherBest decking and railing business and manufacturing and distribution facility in Meridian, Idaho. Covington & Burling LLP advised Fiber Composites on the transaction.

Fiber Composites is a leading manufacturer of composite decking, railing and fencing used in homes and light commercial construction across North America. LP is a leading manufacturer and distributor of building products with facilities in the United States, Canada, and Chile.

The Covington team was led by corporate partner Jack Bodner. The New York and Washington based team included associate Peter Bogdanow (corporate), partner Corrine Goldstein (environmental), partner Robert Gage and associate Heather Haberl (real estate), partner Robert Heller (tax), and special counsel Kristina Rosette (IP).
