Covington Again Named One of the Nation’s Top Ten Family Friendly Law Firms


WASHINGTON, DC, September 10, 2008 — For the second consecutive year, Covington & Burling LLP has been named one of the nation’s Top Ten Family Friendly Firms by Yale Law Women. The list was created to celebrate firms who are the leaders in facilitating work-life balance for lawyers.

The factors that were evaluated include access to and use of maternity/paternity leave; emergency and on-site child care; part-time and flex-time work schedules; health and other benefits for domestic partners; ratios of women partners and associates; and billable hours.

Covington’s commitment to family friendly policies has been widely celebrated. The firm was named in both 2006 and 2007 to Working Mother’s 100 Best Companies list and has also been named one of Working Mother’s Best Law Firms for Women for the past two years.  Covington also earned the top rating of 100 percent in the 2009 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), an annual survey administered by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation.
