Covington’s Phyllis Jones Named “Rising Star”

April 27, 2014

WASHINGTON, DC, April 28, 2014Law360 has named Covington & Burling’s Phyllis Jones a recipient of its “Rising Star” award in the product liability category. The award honors attorneys under the age of 40 whose “legal accomplishments belie their age.”

In its profile, Law360 wrote that Ms. Jones has “taken on big responsibilities in a variety of high-stakes pharmaceutical product liability litigation, successfully representing giants including Eli Lilly and Co. and Hoffmann-La Roche Inc.”

Mike Brock, chair of Covington’s product liability and mass torts practice, commented to Law360 that Ms. Jones is “one of these people [who], whether she’s working with clients or in an adversarial situation in court, exudes credibility."

Ms. Jones, who joined Covington in 2007 after clerking at the federal district and circuit court levels, became a partner in 2013. She focuses on complex litigation matters involving the firm’s pharmaceutical and healthcare clients. Her wide-ranging litigation practice has a particular emphasis on the representation of pharmaceutical companies in mass tort proceedings, including at trial.
