Covington Advises Samsung in PrinterOn Acquisition

REDWOOD SHORES, CA, September 19, 2014 — Covington & Burling advised Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. in its acquisition of Canadian cloud-printing firm PrinterOn. The acquisition is expected to enhance Samsung’s mobile cloud services to the business-to-business market.

Under the terms of the agreement, Samsung purchased all outstanding stock from the current PrinterOn shareholders. PrinterOn, based in Ontario, will continue to operate as an independent, wholly-owned subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Canada. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Covington corporate team was led by Scott Anthony, Andrew Ment and Brad Chernin, with assistance from William Park, Christie Tang and Christian Ling (corporate), Michael Francese and Hannah Bradshaw (employment), Evan Cox, Nigel Howard and Christopher Nofal (IP), Robert Heller (tax), and Miranda Cole (antitrust).
