Covington Advises Turner Sports in Extension of NCAA March Madness Rights

April 12, 2016

NEW YORK Covington advised Turner Sports on the extension of its rights to distribute the NCAA men’s basketball tournament via a partnership with CBS. With the extension in place, Turner and CBS will hold the media rights for “March Madness” through 2032.

The new agreement allows the networks to distribute the tournament games across a wide range of their linear and online platforms. Under the terms of the deal, Turner will continue to operate the “March Madness Live” web offering and the NCAA.com website.

The Covington team advising on the transaction was led by corporate partner Peter Zern, with associate Jeremy Hutcher.
