Eddy Eccles has a practice that focuses on complex and high value disputes, often multi-jurisdictional in nature, including litigation, commercial arbitration, investor-state arbitration, as well as regulatory investigations and enforcement actions. He has advised on matters proceeding before the UK Courts, as well as the European Court of Human Rights and other international organizations.

Mr. Eccles advises clients in a wide range of industries, with a particular focus on the Defense sector and in financial services, including banks, funds and individuals involved in investor/partnership disputes. His has experience of acting for and against public authorities, including the EU Commission.

  • Representing senior management in a range of regulatory and governmental investigations, arising out of one of the largest corporate insolvencies in the UK.
  • Defending a major PLC operating in the extractive industries sector in a complex conspiracy claim arising in the context of a multi-million dollar investment dispute.
  • Acting for management in a carry dispute relating to one of Europe’s leading venture capital funds.
  • Advising in respect of a complex trust litigation, involving parallel disputes in England, BVI and Switzerland.
  • Representing various clients in respect of challenges to EU sanctions regimes.
  • Advising on various investment treaty claims being brought or under contemplation against the Hellenic Republic in connection with its 2012 sovereign debt restructuring.
  • Advising on related High Court litigation and LCIA arbitration proceedings between multiple CIS oligarchs concerning the privatization and sale of various companies in the mining sector.
