Michael G. Scheininger

Michael Scheininger focuses on the defense of business crimes and civil fraud, especially procurement fraud civil false claims (qui tam) and criminal investigations. He regularly advises government contractors on mandatory disclosure.
Mr. Scheininger also focuses his practice on health care fraud. In addition, he represents individuals and entities in investigations alleging offenses in the areas of FCPA, National Security, Public Corruption, Securities (Criminal and Civil Fraud).
- Trial counsel for Fortune 50 aerospace company in false claims act lawsuit alleging defective pricing.
- Representing space technologies company in joint criminal and civil fraud investigations alleging overcharging the government in violation of the FAR and CAS. Although commenced with a search warrant, a criminal case was declined, and the civil false claims act case dismissed by court.
- During four-year grand jury investigation of pharmaceutical company, represented over a dozen top managers in case alleging misbranding in violation of the FDA statute.
- Post-indictment defense of aerospace parts supply company and its two principal owners, each of whom were indicted for export control violations. The case ended with criminal plea and probation for one company principal. Indictment dismissed against company and other principal.
- Represented audit committee of board of directors of government contractor to provide independent assessment of issues related to GSA schedule contracting.
- In unrelated cases, represented employees of medical device, pharmaceutical, and home health care companies in criminal investigations directed out of Boston, Philadelphia, New Jersey, and New York and pertaining to kickback, off-label marketing, and general fraud allegations.
- Represent an Asian executive in Sherman Act auto parts cartel investigation. Successfully represented European Airline in Sherman Act fuel surcharge investigation.
