Robert Wick represents corporations and financial institutions in antitrust cases and class actions. He has been named American Lawyer's "Litigator of the Week" three times for his success in defeating multi-billion dollar claims. He has served as lead counsel for financial institutions and corporations in over eighty class actions and state attorney general actions asserting a variety of antitrust, unfair and deceptive practices, RICO, ERISA, FDCPA, FCRA, TILA, False Claims Act, and common law claims.

  • Representing leading financial institutions in antitrust class actions and opt-out litigation involving U.S. Treasuries, equities, corporate bonds, municipal bonds, FX, derivatives, and aluminum.
  • Defeated class certification in multi-billion dollar antitrust class action relating to aluminum. See In re Aluminum, 2020 WL 4218329 (S.D.N.Y. 2020).
  • Defeated class certification and obtained summary judgment in nationwide mortgage class action. See Ellis v. JPMorgan Chase & Co. (9th Cir. 2018).
  • Persuaded the D.C. Circuit to affirm dismissal of a False Claims Act suit relating to mortgage servicing. See United States v. JPMorgan Chase, 878 F.3d 309 (D.C. Cir. 2017).
  • Obtained dismissal of antitrust class actions filed against the metals trading desk of a leading bank. See In Re Zinc Antitrust Litigation, 2016 WL 93 864 (S.D.N.Y. 2016).
  • Defeated a $3.5 billion antitrust claim shortly before trial and successfully defended the ruling on appeal. See Motorola Mobility v. AU Optronics 773 F.3d 826 (7th Cir. 2014).
  • Represented a technology company in a confidential arbitration in which the company obtained a $50 million arbitration award.
  • Persuaded the Supreme Court to grant review and reverse the Second Circuit in a precedent-setting ERISA case. See Conkright v. Frommert, 130 S. Ct. 1640 (2010).
